Construction of built environment and infrastructure works

Sectors

Section 278 Works

As part of our civil engineering expertise we are able to undertake section 278 works including traffic management, drainage, footpaths, kerbs, utilities, road planing and resurfacing, streetlighting, specialist signage, bellmouth formation, traffic calming, traffic islands, white lining, fencing and other associated works.

Formation of SANGs

We are experienced at creating/establishing first class public recreational green spaces commonly known as SANGs which are generally associated with large new housing developments. These works typically include creating attractive footpaths, footbridges, landscaping, creation of lakes and ponds, educational signage, seating, wildflower planting and mown paths.

Waterways

We have undertaken canal improvement schemes which have included piling bridges re-establishing tow paths and strengthening embankments. In addition, we have also created more natural waterways to replicate a meandering river designed to enhance public enjoyment of a recreational area. Associated works include forming timber viewing platforms and bridges, footpaths, fencing and landscaping.

Irrigation and Field Drainage

Poor draining areas for example sports pitches can often be improved to provide more seasonal availability and betterment of the playing surface and this is an area we have a great deal of experience in. This work can often be carried out by utilising specialist narrow width trenching plant thereby reducing the contract programme.

Car Parks

We have created or improved many car parks with the use of either tarmacadam, resin bond material, hoggin or gravel. Correct compaction and sufficient thickness of subbase material combined with correctly designed drainage is the key to a long lasting and durable product. Associated works may include lighting, kerbs, fencing, white lining and drainage.
